City Secretary

Maria Jackson


Maria Jackson was appointed City Secretary in August 2011, after serving three years as Deputy City Secretary. She joined the City in 2006 as administrative assistant to the department.

Education She earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Marketing from the University of Houston in December 2005. Maria also completed her Texas Registered Municipal Clerks Certification from the University of North Texas in 2012 and recertified in 2016.

Membership In 2013, she served as President to the Board for the Salt Grass Chapter of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, Inc. In addition, she has been a member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA) and Salt Grass Chapter since 2007.

On December 10, 2014, the Salt Grass Chapter of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, Inc., honored Maria as the Municipal Clerk of the Year in recognition and appreciation of her leadership and exemplary dedication to the growth and progress of the chapter.
