Brains and Brawn Wanted for Quail Valley Parks Project
Missouri City residents can put their heads and hands to work in shaping the future of what was a nine-hole golf course known as the Executive 9 and is now part of the Quail Valley Parks Project. Residents are invited to provide their input into the development of the Executive 9 at a public meeting on Thurs., Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Quail Valley Golf Course Clubhouse, 2880 La Quinta Drive.
The feedback from residents will be used to formulate a parks master plan that will be presented to the Parks Board in October. If approved, the master plan will be forwarded to City Council for consideration.
And, volunteers with green thumbs can join City Forester Paul Wierzbicki for Missouri City's Mulch Madness on Thurs. and Fri., Sept. 10 and 11, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Executive 9 to help clean up and "green up" the area. Residents who enjoy getting their hands dirty can help place mulch around trees and improve the overall appearance of the area. Tools and cold water will be provided. Parking and volunteer check in will be held at the old clubhouse on the corner of Hampton Drive and East Creek Club Drive at 8 a.m. on both days.
