“Show Me City” Invites You to Get Crafty & Creative for MOM at Mother’s Day Cake Decorating Event

Events

Have you thought about what to get your loved one for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12? The “Show Me City” has a crafty, creative answer that can help you win Mom over on her special day: the Annual Mother’s Day Cake Decorating Event.

The third-annual celebration, which is part of the Leadership Luncheon Series, will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Center in the City Hall Complex, 1522 Texas Pkwy. And, for the third year in a row, Missouri City’s own bakery, Million Cakes, is a proud partner.

“Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and this year, we wanted to give area families the opportunity to again honor their loved ones in a creative way,” said HOA Liaison and event coordinator, Kelly Matte. “Our amazing event will feature cake kits that include design tools and decoration treats, so each person may create a unique design for their loved one.”

Families of all sizes are welcome. Cakes will cost $15 per kit and will include a six-inch round cake, icing, decorations and other essentials.

The third annual event will also include the opportunity for participants to design an “I Love You” card with a special message for their loved ones. Additional activities includes a photo booth, a face painter, a balloon artist, dancing to the tunes of a DJ, special door prizes and more.

To register your family for the Mother’s Day Cake Decorating Event, click on the City website, email kelly.matte@missouricitytx.gov or call 281.403.8533.

Volunteer partnerships are available; to share your time and talent, please contact MVP Coordinator Adrianna Nixon at adrianna.nixon@missouricitytx.gov to sign up.
