On May 24, 2021, the City of Missouri City Civil Service Commission (“Commission”) directed staff to post for public comments the Draft Local Rules of the Fire Fighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission (“Draft Rules”), prior to the next scheduled Commission meeting on June 17, 2021.
Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Chapter 143, the Draft Rules prescribe the entry and promotion eligibility requirements for Missouri City fire fighters and police officers. The Draft Rules also prescribe cause for removal or suspension of Missouri City fire fighters and police officers, as well as the procedures for appealing disciplinary suspensions, demotions, and other personnel actions.
