The “Show Me City’” is looking for some dedicated civic groups, community leaders and volunteers for this year’s “Great American Cleanup” as part of our City’s efforts to maintain our designation as one of the best places to live in the United States. The City is partnering with Missouri City Green for this event on Sat., April 28.
Registration/check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Buffalo Run Park, Pavilion #1, 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd. T-shirts, gloves and garbage bags will be provided to all participants. A breakfast will also be served to all the volunteers. The cleanup will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at several parks across the City, with closing ceremonies and awards being presented from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at Buffalo Run Park, Pavilion #1.
Groups and individuals will be asked to clean sections of parks around Missouri City. All volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes or rain boots and long pants. Pre-registration is recommended by filling out the registration form on the City’s website, www.missouricitytx.gov under “Parks & Recreation” or by picking up a registration form at the Missouri City Community Center, 1522 Texas Pkwy., in the City Hall Complex.
