Missouri City’s Parks & Recreation Department partnered with the Coastal Conservation Association on Saturday, Sept. 15, to teach children how to bait hooks and remove fish from hooks. About 50 children participated in the Fishing Derby—a family-focused event that was free for children 16 and under. Equipment and bait were provided, or families were welcome to bring their own. The event was one of many Healthy at H-E-B Challenge events Missouri City has hosted as part of its participation in a statewide health initiative to get more people healthy and active.
