Special Treat for Mother's Day

The “Show Me City” is preparing to host its First Annual Mother’s Day Cake Decorating Event as part of the Leadership Luncheon Series. The event will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Community Center in the City Hall Complex, 1522 Texas Pkwy. Proud sponsors of the event are Rich Products Corporation and Million Cakes.

“Mother’s Day is around the corner, and this year, we wanted to give families the opportunity to honor their loved ones in a creative way,” said Stacie Walker, Director of Communications. “Our amazing event sponsors will be providing cakes and fun design tools, treats and candies so each person can create a unique design for their special someone.”

Families of all sizes are welcome. Cakes cost $12 per kit and will include all design tools and decoration treats. For every two cakes a family purchases, they will receive a free Rich’s cheesecake. The first annual event will also include the opportunity for participants to decorate a gift box for their cake and to design a card with a special message for their loved ones. Additional entertainment includes a photo booth, face painting, a balloon artist and more.

Volunteer opportunities are available for this event; please contact Municipal Volunteer Program Coordinator Cory Stottlemyer at 281.403.8532.
