COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL & VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

Missouri City, TX. - The City of Missouri City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Post - Secondary Educational & Vocational Scholarship Applications are now available.

As part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant Program the Scholarship program provides reimbursement for qualified expenses to current residents of the City of Missouri City who are classified as low- to moderate-income and are enrolled in community college, university or vocational programs.  This program awards funding to High School students graduating in 2017 and entering post-secondary institutions and/or full time undergraduate enrollees in post-secondary institutions. This program accomplishes one of the City’s Consolidated Plan priority goal which is Education of youth and adults.

The City of Missouri City’s estimated CDBG allocation for PY 2017-2018 is approximately $12,000.

The CDBG Scholarship application may be obtained from the City’s website, http://www.missouricitytx.gov/ or in-person at the City’s Development Services Department, 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City, TX 77489.

Applications are due by 5p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
