COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT DISASTER RECOVERY (CDBG-DR)
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AMENDMENT PUBLIC HEARINGS

The City of Missouri City Development Services Department will hold a Public Hearing regarding the long-term recovery from the floods of 2016. The City proposes to submit the 2016 Infrastructure Project Application (DR-4266, DR-4269 and DR-4272) grant to the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The purpose of this meeting is to allow citizens an opportunity to discuss the citizen participation plan, the development of local community development needs, and all eligible CDBG-DR activities. The City encourages citizens to participate in the development of this CDBG-DR application and to make their views known.

This hearing will be held to receive comments from the public concerning:

  • The development of housing, infrastructure and community development needs resulting from the disaster(s);
  • The amount of CDBG-DR funding available;
  • All eligible activities, under the Texas Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery; program, including linking activities to the disaster(s) through direct damage or failure to function; and,
  • The City's Method of Distribution Allocation from Fort Bend County.

The public is encouraged to attend the hearing and/or submit written comments. The 14 day comment period will begin December 4, 2017 and end December 17, 2017. All comments must be received by the Development Services Department, 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City, TX 77489 (Attention:  LaToya G. Ricketts, MPA). Residents may fax their comments to the City at (281) 208-5551 by December 17, 2017 for consideration. Comments will be incorporated into the Application, as appropriate.

In compliance with the American Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) should notify the Development Services Department at (281) 403-8541 or by FAX 281-208-5551, at least 48 hours in advance of scheduled hearing date. The City will provide assistance and/or translations for all non-English speaking residents, with request made to the Development Services Department.
