Parks and Recreation Director

Kelly Snook, ASLA

Kelly Snook joined Missouri City as the Parks and Recreation Director in July 2006.

She was formerly a Senior Project Manager with the City of Houston in its Design and Construction Division/Building Services Department and also worked in various aspects of facility planning, design and development of major capital improvement projects for parks/recreational sites.

Snook has worked for the City of Dallas' Parks and Recreation Department as a Landscape Architect in parks master planning; for the City of Plano in the Planning and Development in areas of city ordinances, building codes, landscape and irrigation plans; and is a former owner and manager of Plan to Plant in Houston where she planned and designed private and commercial residential landscaping projects.

She has held instructor positions with the Houston Community College-Owner Builder Center and the University of Texas at Arlington for candidates seeking certification as landscape architects and for the Association of University Women as a volunteer instructor. She is a member of the Texas Recreation and Parks Society, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the American Planning Association. A registered landscape architect in Texas, Snook has a B.S. degree in landscape architecture from Texas A&M University and a master's degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Texas Arlington.
