  1. Parks Board Meeting

    September 1, 7:00 PM @ Council Chamber, City Hall

    The Parks Board meets on a regular basis on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The Board consists of 13 members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board serves in an advisory capacity to City Council on parks and recreation policy matters. Missouri City residence is required to be a member.   3. Acrylic Painting Classes

    September 6, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

    Beginners welcome! Classes are taught by professional painter Heather Roy and held in 5 week sessions meeting on Tuesdays. Each session, participants will complete an acrylic painting to take home. During this session, participants will paint "The Orchid" and will meet from September 6 - October 4. All supplies are provided! Sign up at the Recreation and Tennis Center!

  9. Project Walk Fun Run & Roll

    September 17, 7:30 AM @ Ridge Point High School

    The Project Walk Foundation is pleased to announce the second annual Project Walk Fun Run and Roll on Sept. 17, 2016. All proceeds (including registration) raised from this event will provide a full year of treatment to patients who could not otherwise afford rehabilitation at Project Walk.

    Registration is available online until 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16. and participants are encouraged to make teams, as teams of 5 or more will receive $5 off their registration. Every registration comes with a 2016 Project Walk Fun Run & Roll Tee, Race Bib, finisher’s medal, and entry to the post-race party!

    Race day registration will open at 6:00 a.m. and prices will be higher. After the run, finishers and family members can celebrate their accomplishments at the post-race party which will be complete with food, music, and fun activities for the whole family.

  11. Rainwater Harvesting Workshop

    September 24, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

    Fort Bend County Master Gardener Water Specialists will show you how to set up a rainwater harvesting system using a barrel and share easy ways you can conserve water in your home. Cost: $30 per person which includes ONE free rain barrel ($75 value) per paid registration. Accompanying family members may attend for free. Pre-registration is required and the class is limited to the first 30 registrants. No registration on day of event. Event open to all, not just Missouri City residents. This workshop is hosted by Missouri City Green in partnership with Fort Bend Master Gardeners and Missouri City Parks & Recreation.

  13. Senior Casino Trip

    September 27, 7:00 AM

    Travel with great company to the Delta Downs Casino! The fun-filled day will include socializing, dining and game play. All trip participants are responsible for providing their own money for lunch and game play. On the day of the trip, we will meet at the Recreation & Tennis Center at 7:15 am and leave at 7:30 am. All trip participants will be required to fill out a waiver. Upon arriving to the Delta Downs Casino each participant will have their choice to receive a $5 playing card OR a $10 dining credit. This trip has limited capacity - to reserve your spot, stop by the Recreation & Tennis Center to pay the $10 transportation fee.

  14. Shrimp Boil Tennis Festival

    Missouri City's Shrimp Boil Tennis Festival invites doubles teams for a weekend of tennis fun! The tournament guarantees 2 matches per team and all matches will be 2 sets, no add, 7 point tie break at 6 all with the 3rd set being a 10 point match tie break. A complimentary player's shrimp boil lunch will be held on Saturday, October 1. Extra lunch tickets can be purchased for $15. To register, drop off or mail payments and entry forms to the Recreation & Tennis Center. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 22.
