    Are you a food enthusiast? Enjoy meeting new friends? Join us for Senior Foodies! This program for senior citizens (50+), is an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant with great company. All participants are encouraged to RSVP at the Rec & Tennis Center or by calling 281-403-8637. On the day of the event, we will meet at the designated lunch location. Separate checks will be issued for each participant.

  3. Cooking Class for Kids!

    Explore the world of science through cooking! Create tasty treats and learn how science is a present in more ways than you know. Cooking classes are offered in two sessions: Storybook Cooking for ages 5-7 and Food Truck Creations for ages 8-12. For more information check out the Class Flyer.   4. Senior Trip

    June 27, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Join us for a wild fun time in Alvin! Take a ride-a-long safari tour of the Bayou Wildlife Zoo and enjoy an up-close visit with the animals. Following the zoo will be a stop at Joe’s Barbeque Company for lunch! Rounding out the day’s activities will be a visit to Froberg’s Farm where participants can explore the bakery and meat market and bring back a tasty souvenir.

  5. Acrylic Painting Classes

    June 27, 9:00 AM - August 1, 11:00 AM

    Beginners welcome! Classes are taught by professional painter Heather Roy and held in 5 week sessions meeting on Tuesdays. Each session, participants will complete an acrylic painting to take home. During this session, participants will paint "Sparrow" and will meet from June 27 through August 1 (this session will not meet on July 4). All supplies are provided! Sign up at the Recreation and Tennis Center!

  6. YOUTH City Town Hall Meeting

    June 27, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Council Chambers at City Hall

    City Manager Anthony Snipes will host a YOUTH City Town Hall Meeting so make plans to attend. This meeting is planned as a great opportunity for the City to receive feedback and concerns from area youth. City staff will present a final version of the City's Comprehensive Plan Update and introduce themselves to youth attendees and answer any questions about public service and municipal operations.
