The musical stars will shine in Missouri City at the Third Annual Community Night Out festival on Saturday, Oct. 6. Legendary funk band, Zapp, will headline live concert performances with classic hits like “More Bounce to the Ounce” and other dance favorites.
Also taking the stage will be: Cupid (singing his double-platinum single Cupid Shuffle), Tucka, “the King of Swing”, who will harmonize his chart-topping soulful love songs; and jazz greats Kyle Turner, Mark Dini and Paula Atherton.
The jazz showcase will kick-off at 4 p.m. on the City’s new outdoor Community Center Performance Plaza and run until 6 p.m. Zapp, Cupid and Tucka are scheduled for the main stage showcase from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The free festivities will also include a health fair, food trucks, bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, public safety apparatus, face painting and event booths. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site.

Fort Bend County Master Gardener Water Specialists will show you how to set up a rainwater harvesting system using a barrel and share easy ways you can conserve water in your home. Cost: $25 per person which includes ONE free rain barrel ($30 value) per paid registration. Accompanying family members may attend for free.
Pre-registration is required and the class is limited to the first 30 registrants.
No registration on day of event. Event is open to all, not just Missouri City residents. This event is made possible by the collaborative efforts of

Missouri City Parks & Rec is partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife to provide what you need for a fun camping experience at Brazos Bend State Park. This program costs $75 for a one-night workshop, each family or group of up to six people gets a campsite with nearby restrooms and the use of equipment including: tent, cots for two adults, four foam sleeping pads for children, lantern, camp stove, cooking pots/pans and utensils, and a coffee press. You will bring: bedding, personal items and food.
Registration forms can be found online at www.mctxparks.com or picked up at the Rec & Tennis Center. Payment and registration is processed through the Rec Center and is limited to 15 families.
