The fire chief also provides oversight over the
Community Risk Reduction/Prevention
divisions through the various division leaders and strives to build and maintain relationships with our partners in the area.
Emergency Management Coordination
Missouri City Fire and Rescue Services also performs the emergency management function for the city as designated by the mayor. The division chief of Emergency Preparedness serves as the emergency management coordinator for the Missouri City and is responsible for the planning, preparation, and reduction of the impact of any type of disaster that could strike the city. Additionally, as a joint resolution city in the Fort Bend County Emergency Management Plan, the emergency management coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities with
Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management
Each of the city’s departments has been assigned particular responsibilities through the Emergency Operations Plan and would act according to the plan if the city experienced any disaster. The city periodically performs different types of emergency response exercises in order to meet state and federal guidelines and measure the preparedness level of all departments.
