Municipal Court Director
Ellen M. Berner
Missouri City has named Ellen Berner the new Director of Court Services. Berner brings over 12 years of law enforcement and court experience to the city with a police background, court administration, and affiliations with court associations.


Responsibilities
Berner will serve as a liaison between judges, prosecutors, citizens, and other departments within the city. As the Director of the court I will see that the court is ran in the most courteous and efficient way possible. The Deputy Clerks are fully trained and work under my supervision making sure the citizens are treated with respect and in a professional manner.

Background and Education
Berner earned her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and joined the Texas State Trooper Academy while working towards her BA. She worked as a Texas State Trooper for two years then went on to the Federal Bureau of Investigations as a Surveillance Specialist. Berner then worked for Texas City Municipal Court as a Court Administrator for six years. During her time as a court Administrator she became Municipal Court Clerk level II certified and served as a Regional Director for the Texas Municipal Court Association. She is a member of Texas Court Clerks Association and plans on becoming more involved with the association in the following months.
