Are you a food enthusiast? Enjoy meeting new friends? Join us for Senior Foodies! This program for senior citizens (50+), is an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant with great company. All participants are encouraged to RSVP at the Rec & Tennis Center or by calling 281-403-8637. On the day of the event, we will meet at the designated lunch location. Separate checks will be issued for each participant.

Tricks & Treats in the Park

The 2016 Tricks & Treats in the Park will kickoff with the Monster Mile Fun Run at 4:30 pm and follow with the Tricks & Treats Trail from 5-7 pm. Runners in the Monster Mile will receive a free t-shirt, while supplies last. After the spooky run, take a stroll along the Tricks & Treats Trail and enjoy the many festivities including a petting zoo, moonwalks, a pumpkin patch photo station, games and candy!

Cultural Exchange: Taiwan

Join us for an afternoon learning the culture of Taiwan... without the airfare! Representatives from the Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston and Taiwanese Chorus of Greater Houston will offer a chance to experience traditional dances and a tea service with Taiwanese dessert. The Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department hosts senior bingo monthly for area residents who are 50+. Come fellowship with your peers, enjoy a tasty breakfast and play friendly rounds of bingo for great prizes! Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Electronic Recycling Collection

Missouri City Green and Missouri City Parks and Recreation are hosting an Electronic Recycling Collection in celebration of America Recycles day. Compucycle, Houston's first R2 Certified, EPA recognized electronics recycler will refurbish for resale your unused and unwanted electronics or recycle them using environmentally responsible e-cycling processes. Clear out your old electronics - get ready for the new! This event was prepared in cooperation with the Houston-Galveston Area Council and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Donations will be accepted to fund future community-wide recycling events like this one. For a complete list of accepted items, check out the event flyer.

Find your holiday gifts early this year at the Missouri City Fall Craft Fair! Browse through a variety of items such as jewelry, holiday décor, novelties, home goods and more! The craft fair will be free for the public to attend. Shoppers are advised to bring cash for their form of payment. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. 

Snowfest Festival

The Snowfest Festival will begin with entertainment presented by the Fort Bend Academy of Arts & Dance at 5:30 pm followed by the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks! From 6-9 pm, guests are invited to enjoy the array of festivities including the 3-lane snowhill, camel rides, moonwalks, photos with Santa and much more!

The fun continues the following morning, with the Snowfest Shuffle Fun Run and Snowfest Parade. Fun Run participants should arrive between 7:30-7:45 am for check-in and to receive a free race t-shirt (while supplies last). The 1.25 mile run will begin at 8:15 am at the Rec & Tennis Center and end at the Public Safety Headquarters, where runners are invited to ride on the special Snowfest Shuffle float in the Parade! 

To help out area families in need during the holiday season, Snowfest will provide the opportunity to donate unwrapped toys to the Missouri City Police Department Blue Santa Toy Drive. Donations will be accepted at the Festival and at the Fun Run.

The parade will begin at the Public Safety Headquarters located on the corner of Cartwright Road and Murphy Road. The two-mile long procession will feature floats decorated in holiday themes, horses and various organizations on foot! Organizations interested in being a part of this cherished tradition can participate by filling out a free Parade Application and emailing it to Kyle Frye.

Tennis Toy Drive

Cost per player: $15 plus an unopened gift for charity

Get in the holiday spirit by joining us for a social, competitive mixed doubles tournament focused on serving a good cause while having fun. The Missouri City Police Department will swing by in the squad car & collect all the gifts to donate to Bethel Ministries & Blue Santa. Player's lunch included.
