Pickleball: Open Play

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday

Play one of the fastest growing sports in America! Pickleball is a racquet sport played by 2-4 people that has elements similar to badminton and tennis. This recreational open play time welcomes all levels to attend. A membership at the Rec & Tennis Center is required to play. Non-members will be required to purchase a $5 day pass.

Cost: $21 per month, or $5 per class

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Instructor Judy Pasadyn will guide all participants through warm-ups, Tai Chi Walk, and Tai Chi 8 Form.

This class teaches participants proper form and technique on various muscular strength and endurance by using a variety of movements.

Get your body moving and grooving line dancing at the Rec! All levels are welcome to learn and develop their dancing skills!

Mah Jongg is a tile game usually played by 4 people that has been embraced all around the world. Practice your skills while building friendships.


Senior Bingo

The Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department hosts senior bingo monthly for area residents who are 50+. Enjoy refreshments with friends while playing for great prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the door. This program is held at the Rec & Tennis Center and rotates each month from morning to evening.

Are you a food enthusiast? Enjoy meeting new friends? Join us for Senior Foodies! This program for senior citizens (50+), is an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant with great company. All participants are encouraged to RSVP at the Rec & Tennis Center or by calling 281-403-8637. On the day of the event, we will meet at the designated lunch location at 11:30 am. Separate checks will be issued for each participant.

Specialists from Ft Bend Master Gardeners will show you how to conserve water by tweaking your current irrigation system, collecting and using rainwater and selecting plants with a low water requirement. RSVP at Missouri City Green's website to earn a ticket in the prize drawings!

Missouri City's Shrimp Boil Tennis Festival invites doubles teams for a Saturday full of tennis fun! A complimentary player's shrimp boil lunch will be served. To register, drop off or mail payments and entry forms to the Recreation & Tennis Center. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 21.

Join us for the Second Annual Community Night Out event! Saturday will feature performances by national performing Jazz, Zydeco, and Country artists, followed by a laser show. Sunday will feature Missouri City's first annual Cultural Festival and Health Fair - a celebration of the creative spirit of our diverse community, expressing unique cultural heritage through art, music, and food.
