New! Summer 2014 Recreation Guide!
Stay up to date with all of the Missouri City Parks & Recreation happenings with the Summer 2014 Recreation Guide. Printed copies are available at the Recreation & Tennis Center.

Responsibilities & Services
The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department is a Gold Medal Award-winning department that maintains and operates 20 developed parks totaling 393 acres. The department also maintains the Missouri City Recycling Center.

The Recreation and Tennis Center houses a cardio and weight room, gymnasium, batting cages, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms and tennis courts.

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department has daytime and evening recreational programs and provides numerous special events throughout the year.

VolleyFitsU: Summer Clinic
Session 1: July 14-July 18
Session 2: July 21-25

VolleyFitsU is designed to develop fundamental skills and to improve body composition by challenging muscular strength, flexibility, and speed through cardio workouts combined with volleyball drills and exercises. During this summer clinic, children ages 9-14 years old are invited to enjoy the VolleyFitsU program.

Senior Field Trip
Thursday, July 24

Travel with us to the cherished city of Huntsville, a significant hub for Texas History. The same turf that welcomed the first president of the Republic of Texas, also invites seniors to tour the Texas Prison Museum, enjoy lunch & shopping in the Downtown District and visit the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. The cost for this enriching trip is $25. Limited spots are available – sign up soon at the Recreation & Tennis Center! Trip will include a moderate amount of walking.

Afternoon with an Expert: Apollo Talk

Expert: Former NASA Physicist, Don Cooper
Be amazed as Don describes how he helped to land Neil Armstrong on the moon and bring Apollo 13 back to safety.
