Responsibilities & Services
The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department is a Gold Medal Award-winning department that maintains and operates 20 developed parks totaling 393 acres. The department also maintains the Missouri City Recycling Center.

The Recreation and Tennis Center houses a cardio and weight room, gymnasium, batting cages, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms and tennis courts.

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department has daytime and evening recreational programs and provides numerous special events throughout the year.

This introductory children's art session will focus on Vincent Van Gogh and the Impressionist era. Students ages 5-12 are invited to learn about Van Gogh's life and contributions to art while replicating his style on canvas with acrylics. The cost is $50 and includes all necessary supplies. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty.

Join local artist Robyn Crowell for an evening of jewelry inspired fun. Robyn will lead participants through basic stringing, pattern creation, and design elements develop a beautiful holiday piece. The piece will use Czech Crystal to add a sparkle to the holiday season.
The cost of the class is $45 and includes all necessary supplies. Registration is required. Sign up at the Rec & Tennis Center or by calling 281-403-8637.

Snowfest Festival

Get in the holiday spirit with the 32
nd Annual Snowfest! The beloved tradition will kick off with pre-festival entertainment provided by The Fort Bend Academy of Arts & Dance at 5:30 pm and will follow with the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks! From 6-9 pm, guests are invited to enjoy the array of event activities including the 3-lane snowhill, camel rides, moonwalks, a video gaming station and photos with Santa & his favorite reindeer!

To support area families in need this holiday season, the Missouri City Police Department will be onsite to collect unwrapped toys for the annual Blue Santa Toy Drive. All donations can be dropped off by the Christmas tree.
