New! RecNATION throughout September!

Throughout the month of September, Missouri City Parks & Recreation will host a new program – RecNATION. This program is designed to give Recreation & Tennis Center members the opportunity to try new things, meet new people and earn cool swag. Participants will also get to become a part of a group of people that love to recreate, a group known as RecNATION.

Responsibilities & Services
The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department is a Gold Medal Award-winning department that maintains and operates 20 developed parks totaling 393 acres. The department also maintains the Missouri City Recycling Center.

The Recreation and Tennis Center houses a cardio and weight room, gymnasium, batting cages, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms and tennis courts.

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department has daytime and evening recreational programs and provides numerous special events throughout the year.

Breakfast & Bingo
Thursday, September 18

Fellowship with your peers, enjoy refreshments and play friendly rounds of bingo for great prizes! Breakfast will be served at 9:30 am and bingo will begin at approximately 10:00 am.

Pickleball: Open House
Monday, September 22
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Rec & Tennis Center

Pickleball is a racquet sport played by 2-4 people that has elements similar to badminton and tennis. This beginner’s open house is designed to teach the basics of the game in a friendly atmosphere. Participants will receive a FREE lunch during the open house. Registration is required. Day-of registrations will only be taken if there is availability. RSVP by calling 281-403-8637.

Afternoon with an Expert -Olympic Adventures

Afternoon with an Expert is a monthly program designed to give senior citizens insight into various areas of expertise. During the September session, we will host Nia Nicole Abdallah who competed in the 2004 Olympic Games and was the first and youngest American female to receive a medal for Taekwondo in the Olympics since 1992. During her presentation, Abdallah will walk us through her story and give a demo of Taekwondo.
