Responsibilities & Services
The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department is a Gold Medal Award-winning department that maintains and operates 20 developed parks totaling 393 acres. The department also maintains the Missouri City Recycling Center.

The Recreation and Tennis Center houses a cardio and weight room, gymnasium, batting cages, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms and tennis courts.

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department has daytime and evening recreational programs and provides numerous special events throughout the year.

Senior Casino Trip
Tuesday, November 25

Delta Downs Casino

Travel with great company to the Delta Downs Casino! The fun-filled day will include socializing, dining and game play. All trip participants are responsible for providing their own money for lunch and game play. On the day of the trip, we will meet at the Recreation & Tennis Center at 7:15 am and leave at 7:30 am. All trip participants will be required to fill out a waiver. Upon arriving to the Delta Downs Casino each participant will have their choice to receive a $5 playing card OR a $10 dining credit. This trip has limited capacity - to reserve your spot, stop by the Recreation & Tennis Center to pay the $10 transportation fee.

Snowfest Festival
Friday, December 5

Civic Center Complex

Kick off the holiday season with the 31st Annual Snowfest Festival! The celebration will begin with a performance by Southminster Choral Ensemble and a tree-lighting ceremony by Missouri City’s own elected officials. From 6-9 pm, festivities will be available including a snow hill, Santa, moonwalks, a rock wall, camel rides, orbinauts and an exclusive Kids’ Village which will provide an array of crafts and activities for Snowfest youngsters.

Snowfest 2014 will have an assortment of food items available for purchase. In addition to great local food vendors, the festival will host award winning food trucks – Bernie’s Burger Bus & Eatsie Boys.

Give back! This event encourages attendees to bring an unwrapped toy for The Missouri City Police Department “Blue Santa” Toy Drive.

Santa Shuffle: Fun Run

Spread the holiday cheer with our one mile Santa Shuffle Fun Run! Santa hats, reindeer antlers, and ugly sweaters are encouraged! Free t-shirts for the first 50 participants. No registration required - runners should arrive between 7:30 -7:45 am. 

Snowfest Parade
Saturday, December 6

Public Safety Headquarters

The parade will begin at the Public Safety Headquarters located on the corner of Cartwright Road and Murphy Road. The two mile long procession will feature floats decorated in holiday themes, horses and various organizations on foot. Beginning at 8:00 am, Cartwright Road will be closed. The road will reopen at approximately 11:00 am.
