The Communications staff consists of three communications supervisors, 17 telecommunications officers (TCO) and 16 full-time and one part-time positions.

The Communications section provides 24 hour emergency and non-emergency services to the Fire, Police, and Animal Control areas. They handle computer aided dispatch systems for the Police and Fire departments and are designated as the 9-1-1 public safety answering point (PSAP) for the Missouri City area.

The communications center utilizes a state-of-the-art 800 megahertz trunked radio system. The center has the ability to coordinate all communications with other host computers, such as:
  • FBI in Washington
  • Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office
  • Harris County Sheriff's Office
  • Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin
The communications center maintains all warrants of the Municipal Court for the warrant officers and handles calls from other agencies concerning outstanding warrants.
