GFL Environmental (former WCA Waste Corp.) is the Exclusive Franchise Provider for the City’s Commercial Customers
Effective Jan. 1, 2016, City Council Members authorized WCA Waste Corp. to be the exclusive solid waste provider for all commercial customers located within City limits (Ordinance No. O-15-47). The franchise will remain in effect until Dec. 31, 2023.
And, WCA Waste Corp. joined the GFL Environmental group of companies on Oct. 1, 2020.
Companies that become new GFL customers will receive trash containers with GFL branding. Overall, the existence of a sole provider for all businesses results in less wear and tear on City streets due to fewer trucks driving on area roadways, less traffic in parking lots and cleaner air from GFL's (former WCA) compressed natural gas trucks.
Additionally, Missouri City companies will have dedicated GFL employees for commercial routes and a dedicated customer service line, 281.953.1460. New businesses may contact GFL directly to begin their solid waste service.
