At their Monday, March 2 Regular Meeting, Councilmembers awarded Package 1 construction contract for the Mustang Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion; amended Chapter 34, Finance Taxation, of the Missouri City Code and declared the City’s intention to reimburse the cost of certain expenditures from the proceeds of certificated of obligation to be issued for the construction of public works and a fire truck. Here is a rundown of all Council actions at the meeting:
Presented community leader Jennifer Nava with a Chief of Police Commendation for her efforts in ensuring Target’s partnership in several community initiatives including Back-to-School Health Fair, Turkey Give-Away, Shop with a Cop and more.
At the Monday, March 2 Special Meeting, Council unanimously appointed Assistant City Manager Bill Atkinson as Interim City Manager as the City begins its search for a new City Manager.

Snipes was Missouri City’s seventh Chief Administrative Officer. His career spans more than 20 years and includes achievements in strategic initiatives that involve budgeting and performance management, public/private partnerships and organizational development. Before joining MCTX, he was a municipal executive in Dayton, Ohio; Fort Worth and Austin.
