
In accordance with the Texas Election Code, the City will hold a General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 2, and the positions on the ballot are for Districts A, B, C and D Councilmembers. The first day to file for a place on the ballot is this Saturday, July 17. However, in-person applications will start being accepted the next regular business day – Monday, July 19.
Candidates may submit their application via one of the following options:
- In person at Planning, Permits & Inspections, 1522 Texas Pkwy. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upon arrival, ask to speak to the City Secretary’s Office.
- By mail to City of Missouri City, Attn: Maria Jackson, 1522 Texas Pkwy., Missouri City, Texas 77489. An application filed by mail is considered to be filed at the time it is received by the City Secretary.
- By fax to 281.403.8527.
- By email to CSO@missouricitytx.gov.
Other key dates to note include:
- Monday, Aug. 16: Last day to file an application for a place on the ballot; must be received by 5 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 20: Last day for a write-in candidate to declare candidacy.
- Monday, Aug. 23: Last day for a ballot candidate and write-in candidate to withdraw from the election and have his/her name removed.
- Saturday, Sept. 18: First day candidate political signs may be posted.
