A flashing yellow left-turn arrow is being added to the traffic signals both eastbound and westbound on Independence Boulevard at Grand Park beginning Monday, Dec. 19 to improve traffic flow and build on motorist and pedestrian safety. When motorists see a solid yellow left-turn arrow, they may proceed if it is safe to do so. When the arrow is flashing yellow, motorists must yield to oncoming traffic before making the turn. The green arrow, or protected left turn, will remain for all four traffic signals at the Independence/Grand Park intersection. Plans are to add the yellow left-turn arrow at other City intersections in the future.
