At the Monday, August 7 Regular Meeting, council members approved the Community Development Block Grant Program Year 2023 Action Plan; approved ordinances changing speed limits along Knights Court; and approved an ordinance annexing Sienna Municipal Utility District No.2. Here is a rundown of all Council actions at the meeting:
Consent Agenda
1. Approved (7-0) the special and regular City Council meeting minutes for July 3, 2023, and July 17, 2023.
2. Approved (7-0) the 10/20 Year Write Off of Property Taxes in the amount of $8,635.32.
3. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to execute a three-year contract with Clifford Power Systems, Inc., for scheduled and predictive maintenance services as well as repair services for generators in an amount not to exceed $150,000 annum.
4. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to execute a contract with Ziegler Cooper Inc., to recompense for value engineering item and plan revision for the proposed Parks/Maintenance Facility Building concept to a two-story building, for $73,710.
5. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $1,199,922.75 with Anchor Construction Management for the development of Troxell Park.
6. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Carroll’s Office Furniture for renovations at City Hall installing seven (7) cubicle offices in an amount not to exceed $71,504.76.

8. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Construction Masters of Houston for facilities improvements at 10 city facility locations in an amount not to exceed $842,332.64.
9. Authorized (7-0) the City Manager to execute a change order to the construction contract with Republic Masonry & Fencing LLC for the construction/replacement of a new (marquee) digital reader sign at City Hall for $98,474.75.
10. Ratified (7-0) previous expenditures of $304,290.55 to Trio Electric for electrical improvements, emergency electrical repairs and prevention services.
11. Approved (7-0) an ordinance on the second and final reading to authorize a street name change from Bedford Forrest Court to Liberty Way Court.
12. Approved (7-0) an ordinance on the second and final reading to zone approximately 0.24 acre of land a SUP, Specific Use Permit to allow for the location of a lift station, and to the extent such zoning deviates from the Future Land Use and Character map of the Comprehensive Plan, to provide for an amendment therefrom.

d) Approved (4-2) on the first of two readings, an ordinance annexing Sienna Municipal Utility District No. 2.
Resolutions
Approved (7-0) A resolution of the City Council of the City of Missouri City, Texas, electing to participate in tax abatement; reauthorizing guidelines and criteria governing city tax abatement agreements; providing for repeal; providing an effective date; and providing for severability.
