Phase I of this 50-acre park opened in 2000, with access to the main lake for fishing and boating. A parking facility is also open to the public and other amenities will include courtesy docks, lighting, and signage.
History
A corporation created the water detention facility by connecting and combining existing sandpits into several holding ponds. Water from Stafford Run

The city received a state boat ramp grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to construct the first public boat ramp in Fort Bend County. The grant was a 75% / 25% matching grant with the city responsible for funding only 25% of the project. Other amenities funded by the grant included parking, courtesy docks, lighting, and signage.
