The City Council meets regularly on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. The City Council sets policy for the governance of the City of Missouri City. Missouri City Television rebroadcasts regular City Council meetings.

The purpose of the Intermediate Crisis Intervention Training course is to educate law enforcement officers about issues pertaining to crisis intervention techniques, especially in communicating with persons with a mental illness.
